Hire the Doctor of Pharmacy graduates and save the nation from health hazards
Dear Prime minister,
Greetings for the day,
This was regarding a serious
issue that was going in our country for the Doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D) (Six
years course) graduate students. These students spending their valuable time
and money to work for better patient care.
However,
once a qualified Doctor of pharmacy graduate comes from the college/university
to work for the patient there was no job opportunity created for these
students.
However,

These
students analyse the prescription and check for any drug interactions and any
other issues related to the prescription. In our country, we have many
resources (Doctor of pharmacy graduates) but they do not have the opportunity
to serve for the nation.
Because
of the poly-medication and under knowledge there was huge drug resistance,
which was more vulnerable for current and future generations.
It was strange that the Doctor
of pharmacy been published in the gazette in 2008 but still the Ministry of
health and recruiting team government of India was unaware regarding this
course.
The
Pharm.D graduates fighting for their rights. In addition, I would like to
specify that pharm.D graduates have better knowledge regarding the pharmacology
and pharmacotherapeutics compared to RMPs and unlicensed practitioner in the
cities and villages
And
I would like to bring to your notice that, even for the notifications and
circulars generated by the recruiting and HR team they prefer only D.pharm
(Diploma in pharmacy) (2 years).
When a highly qualified
graduate like Doctor of Pharmacy was available to serve the nation then why
these candidates was not recruited where they can completely analyse, prescribe
or dispense the medications.
Hence, I request you to
consider this as a very serious emergency issue and start recruiting the Doctor
of pharmacy students as clinical pharmacists in the government hospitals as
well as in other health care centres.
And I would like to bring to your notice that these graduates were on hunger strike for their right and find the images below.
Yours
Pharm D Fund team.
