Regarding Promotion to next higher class under Pharm.D Regulations 2008.

Sub:    Regarding Promotion to next higher class under Pharm.D Regulations 2008. Sir/Madam With reference to the subject cited above,  I am directed to inform that the subject cited issue was considered by the 89 th Central Council of the PCI in its meeting held in April, 2012 which decided to clarify that :- a)   there is a provision for supplementary examination under regulation 10 of the Pharm.D. Regulations, 2008. b)   regulation 15 and 10 of the Pharm.D. Regulations, 2008 are interwoven and are to be read together. c)   hence the failed students of annual examination are eligible to appear for supplementary examination under regulation 10 of the Pharm.D. Regulations, 2008 and if the failed students of annual examination pass in the supplementary examination they are eligible for promotion to next higher class without loosin

Sub:     Grant of study leave to B.Pharm in-service pharmacists for Higher Education to upgrade their knowledge. Ref:      Our Circular No. 10-82/2010-PCI/25912-46 dt. 5.1.2011. With reference to the subject cited above, I am directed to inform that the subject cited matter was considered by Executive Committee of the Council which decided to reiterate Council’s circular dt. 5.1.2011 requesting the State Govt./UTs to grant study leave to in-service degree pharmacists to undergo Pharm.D(PB) course in order to upgrade their qualification & skills. In view of above, it is requested that in-service degree pharmacists be given an opportunity to upgrade their qualification and skills and granted study leave to undergo Pharm.D(Post Baccalaureate) course. This will help the pharmacists to acquire new skills and utilize it for the betterment of public health.

  Grant of study leave to in-service Diploma pharmacist to undergo Pharm.D course The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) is a statutory body working under the Ministry of Health and F.W., Government of India.   It is constituted under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 to regulate pharmacy education & practice of profession in the country. The PCI approves pharmacy courses for the purpose of registration as a pharmacist to practice the pharmacy profession.   In 2008, the PCI with the approval of the Ministry of Health & F.W. has introduced Pharm.D. course of 6 years duration.   The Pharm.D.
